PRAIRIE DES FILTRES
About
One of the most well-frequented gardens of the city, it welcomes walkers, families and all manner of locals in general who come in search of green spaces during the day and parties at night.
Situated on the banks of the Garonne, with its toes in the water, the Prairie des Filtres offers magnificent views across the river and over to the Quais de Tounis with their beautiful pink bricks. In summer, it is covered with sand to host Toulouse Plage and for the rest of the time it is home to countless festive events.
Its name stems from the system of filtering and pumping the water of the River Garonne that was employed to supply the fountains of Toulouse from the water tower.
