This tour takes you to the heart of the conservation principles and practices that have shaped our heritage, past and present. You'll take a closer look at the restoration of the cloister and the chapel of Saint Antonin, two wings of the convent with very different preservation challenges.
A building that adapts to the objectives and needs of its eras.
The Jacobins Convent, a jewel of medieval architecture, has been through some turbulent times. Transformed into a military barracks in the 19th century, it has since benefited from restoration work to preserve its integrity despite its misuse. Today, this monument faces a new challenge: the repair of its roof, scheduled for 2025. This operation illustrates the continuity of our commitment to heritage conservation.
