On this second day, take the time to discover another side to Toulouse. Stroll along the Canal du Midi, visit the Musée des Augustins, soak up the atmosphere of the Carmes and Saint-Étienne neighbourhoods, and treat yourself to the many excellent restaurants that have made Toulouse’s culinary reputation.

Day 4 – From museums to charming quarters
After discovering Toulouse’s must-see attractions, take the time to explore the city’s many facets. Depending on your interests, step inside the city’s museums: the Muséum de Toulouse, Les Abattoirs, the Musée Saint-Raymond and the Quai des Savoirs invite you to continue your exploration of the city from an artistic, scientific or historical perspective.
Make the most of this opportunity to wander through neighbourhoods less well-known to visitors. The narrow streets of Saint-Cyprien, the lively terraces of Place Saint-Georges or the banks of the Garonne offer a different perspective on Toulouse – one that’s more local and just as charming.
Day 5 – Heading for the Fronton vineyards
Less than 30 kilometres from Toulouse, the Fronton vineyards make for an ideal day trip to discover another side of the region. Renowned for its iconic grape variety, the Négrette, the area is home to a number of estates where winegrowers are happy to share their expertise through tastings and tours.
This day is also an opportunity to explore the rolling countryside north of Toulouse and stop off at a few charming villages. With its heritage, fine food and relaxed way of life, the Fronton region offers a pleasant contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city.
Day 6 – The most beautiful day trips around Toulouse
Thanks to its extensive TER rail network, Toulouse is an excellent base from which to explore the major attractions of Occitanie.
Let yourself be charmed by the medieval city of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; admire the majestic Sainte-Cécile Cathedral in Albi; stroll through the cobbled streets of Cordes-sur-Ciel; or discover Moissac, famous for its Romanesque cloister. Each of these destinations is perfect for a day trip, before returning to the friendly atmosphere of the ‘Ville Rose’ in the evening.
