UN GRAND CRI D’AMOUR

Since their separation, Gigi has sunk into depression (and alcoholism), whilst her ex-husband is trying to revive his acting career with a new play.
The opening night is fast approaching, but his co-star has pulled out…

That’s when Sylvestre, their former unscrupulous producer, enters the picture. Sensing a media sensation, he resorts to all manner of manoeuvres and scheming to reunite them on stage, just as in their glory days.
The former lovers agree, willingly or not, to perform a play together once more, the central theme of which is none other than… love. An explosive gamble that quickly puts their past, their wounds and their egos to the test, on the very stage where they had once triumphed.

Caught between these two ‘not-so-sacred monsters’, their director Léon struggles as best he can to keep things on track. But the rehearsals quickly descend into comic chaos, undermined by settling of scores, cutting barbs and Machiavellian dirty tricks.

With its breakneck pace, biting dialogue and an avalanche of delightfully absurd situations, *Un grand cri d’amour* sweeps the audience away in a whirlwind of laughter and emotion. The stage then becomes the playground (and battlefield) for a duo who are polar opposites… except, perhaps, deep down, for a great cry of love.
