In *Transfiguration*, his signature piece which he has been performing around the world since 1998, he explores an artist’s inability to breathe life into his work. In a desperate act, he covers himself in clay paint to become a living sculpture. Building another face layer by layer, he transforms before our very eyes. Both unsettling and deeply moving, this visual performance spectacularly overturns the existence of a character—initially an unremarkable office worker—who becomes a bestial man on a frantic quest for his true nature. *Transfiguration*: the absolute art of metamorphosis.
