About

Marion Camy-Palou, aka Deeat Palace, is an experimental musician and sound artist. Romain Baudoin has bought a traditional acoustic hurdy-gurdy dating from 1930. It offers incredible playing quality and a full sound that is characteristic of old hurdy-gurdies.

Marion draws her inspiration from the atmospheres of industrial and noise music. Recently, she has been focusing on more contemplative music, apprehending structures, textures and timbres in broad musical dynamics.
Romain wonders whether it might be possible to develop another form of contemporary playing on this instrument, one that goes against the grain of current practice. In parallel with this research, he is working on the 'origins' of viellistic practice in the Landes de Gascogne.
