LES ARTS EN BALADE À TOULOUSE

Les Arts en Balade in Toulouse has now become an unmissable event for art lovers! Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, video, ceramics, collage and even installations: the diversity of artistic practices promises a rich and evocative immersion in the local art scene. It’s an opportunity to chat directly with the artists, discover their creative processes and, if you wish, purchase works at studio prices.

Once again this year, the event is taking place across the city, with contemporary artists participating at 105 venues in Toulouse and 16 surrounding towns. Over the weekend, several artists are also organising events in their studios: private viewings, discussions, performances, demonstrations, workshops and concerts.

From the start of the month, the event takes hold in the city with a range of new projects:
- Participatory Previews: 10 iconic venues across the city (Ombres Blanches, ISDAT, cultural centres, etc.) are transformed into creative workshops. On the programme: a showcase exhibition of works on the theme of the workshop, demonstrations of various techniques, as well as collective creations and photo murals transformed into walls for free expression.
- Art at the Victor Hugo Market: a week before the opening, the traders’ stalls will be transformed into showcases for our artists’ works.
- A Filmmaker’s Perspective: the film ‘Balade dans les ateliers’ (A Stroll Through the Studios): Toulouse-based director Gilles Thomat sets up his camera in our studios for an exclusive film, a true ode to local creativity.
- The symposium ‘The Paths of Art as Vectors of Transition’: in partnership with Sciences Po Toulouse (UNESCO Bernard Maris Chair), to explore the evolution of contemporary art in the context of social and ecological transitions.
