Synopsis:
In the Prague ghetto of the 16th century, Rabbi Löw brings a clay statue to life – the mythical Golem – to protect his community from persecution. A landmark of German Expressionist cinema. The third adaptation of the ancient Jewish legend, presented as a Promethean drama. The Golem, an imposing clay creature with a slow, heavy gait, who escapes from his creator. In short, a pivotal figure in history, as he paves the way for another mythical creature: Frankenstein’s monster.
