LE CIEL NOUS VENGERA. NICOLAS DAUBANES.

For over fifteen years, artist Nicolas Daubanes (1983) has been developing a body of work centred on the world of prisons - drawings, installations, videos - nurtured by immersive residencies in prisons. His exhibition at Le Castelet is an extension of his residency at Villa Medici, combining historical references such as Piranesi's imaginary prisons with contemporary creations. Formerly linked to the Saint-Michel prison, Le Castelet carries within it the memory of Toulouse's places of confinement: a context of singular strength for presenting the work of Nicolas Daubanes.
