LE CANAL DU MIDI UN PATRIMOINE À RÉINVENTER
About
A 17th-century masterpiece designed by Pierre-Paul Riquet, the Canal du Midi is a unique cultural landscape, marked by the richness of its structures and landscapes. Today, this heritage is at a crossroads, with some sites in a fragile state or in disrepair, and their future in question.
Through the work of students from the "Patrimoine(s) en projet" master's programme, discover an exhibition that explores new ways of reactivating and reinventing these sites.
Conversion projects, scenarios for use, strategies for enhancement: all these proposals combine architectural, urban and landscape scales, with constant attention to local resources and environmental issues.
Plans, models, photographs and archive documents showcase a selection of 14 emblematic sites, from Toulouse to Marseillan, offering you a new perspective on this territory.
Between past, present and future, this exhibition invites you to imagine the possible futures of the Canal du Midi. It is accompanied by a programme of meetings and may be touring the Occitanie region.
