LASCAUX 5

Just like the Lascaux paintings, which were preserved for millennia in darkness before being revealed, studied, preserved and then reproduced, these works will in turn disappear from view. They will remain present in memories, stories and hearts. Between disappearance and transmission, Lascaux 5 offers another path: that of a collective celebration before erasure. For this final intervention on the walls of the Armagnac shirt factory, we have invited artists chosen as much for their geographical proximity as for their aesthetic, political or personal affinities. Lascaux 5 continues this story. Neither an exhibition, nor a festival, nor a mere closing event, the project is intended above all as a moment of sharing and celebration of contemporary creation in Toulouse through the unique history of an artist-run space that has already spanned four decades …Once the walls have been painted, the building will host a series of events over a two-week period.
