LA TIMIDITÉ DES CIMES

They find themselves in a strange place, a desolate area left empty following the disappearance of the trees. Together, they will learn to come to terms with this space, through sheer conviction and instinct. Their experiences with memory and the resilience of living things in the face of the trials of time will lead their own bodies to undergo a metamorphosis.

‘The shyness of the treetops’ is the name given to a phenomenon observed in certain forests: an empty space, known as a ‘shyness zone’, forms between the branches of different trees that do not touch one another. Often, when explaining a natural phenomenon, we relate it to human behaviour. In this performance, we attempt to do the opposite: to observe human behaviour through a botanical lens.
