About
The Association Chiens Guides Grand Sud Ouest, which has been based in Toulouse for 30 years, supports blind and partially sighted people by training and providing guide dogs free of charge.
On Sunday 27 September, from 1 pm to 6 pm, the Association is holding its Guide Dog Day in the city centre for the first time, on Allées Jules Guesdes, opposite the Quai des Savoirs, in Toulouse.
On the programme:
· Guidance demonstrations with trainers and their guide dog trainees,
· Meet the teams of visually impaired handlers and their guide dogs,
· Information stands on foster families and donations,
· Workshops and games whilst blindfolded,
· An introduction to the electronic white cane and arm-guiding techniques,
· An introduction to French Sign Language
· Sale of charity souvenirs.
