LA CINÉMATHÈQUE DE TOULOUSE ROUVRE SES PORTES !
About
Toulouse is home to the country's second-largest film library and one of the most important film collections in Europe!
Following renovation work, the new Cinémathèque now boasts a 98-seat cinema (its third), enabling it to offer a wider range of programming and greater operational flexibility. Long-awaited by users and staff alike, a café has been installed, giving access to the small rear courtyard, which is finally open to the public. There will also be a new, open-access library, more comfortable for reading and research work. (scheduled to open in September 2026)
The programme of festivities:
- Friday evening: official inauguration of the new venue with the Reunion Party and the opening of the reopening exhibition.
- Saturday morning to Sunday evening: non-stop screenings, two film-concerts, non-stop free entertainment, tours of the new spaces and guided tours of the "En toute transparence" exhibition. A guided tour to discover what goes on behind the scenes and the treasures of the collections.
A not-to-be-missed opportunity to rediscover the Cinémathèque, its rooms, its renovated spaces and its unique programme!
