About

The former water tower in the Bonnefoy suburb, opened in 1892, became the ‘Toulouse Memory Centre’ in 1996.

This weekend, the Municipal Archives are opening their doors to the public!

Join us for guided tours of the Archives building, housed in the city’s former water tower. These tours offer an insight into the history of the site and how the archives operate.

Several themed workshops will enrich the experience. The ‘Image Investigations’ workshop invites you to conduct an investigation into Toulouse using old photographs from the archives’ collections. The ‘Restoration and Conservation’ workshop lifts the veil on the techniques used to preserve old documents, offering a practical insight into the work of the professionals responsible for safeguarding our written heritage. Finally, the ‘Archivist for a Day’ workshop offers a fun and interactive introduction to filing and protecting documents.
