JOURNÉES DU PATRIMOINE À L’ÉGLISE DU GÉSU

The Church of the Gesù is a former Catholic place of worship situated in Toulouse. Built in the Neo-Gothic style by the Jesuits in the 19th century, the church was deconsecrated in 2000 and converted into a concert hall for organ recitals.

This weekend, it’s opening its doors to you!

You can explore the building at your leisure or take a 30-minute guided tour. The Church of the Gesù is a hidden gem of Toulouse’s heritage. Its Neo-Gothic architecture, wax-painted decorations and fully preserved stained-glass windows give it a distinctive style, making it a truly unique monument in Toulouse.

Curious visitors, come and see the gallery organ up close and let yourselves be captivated by the mysteries of this unique instrument. Throughout the day, music will accompany you on a musical journey inviting you to explore its sounds. Then, enjoy musical interludes – truly enchanting moments of respite. Finally, to uncover the organ’s secrets, a series of presentations will be held.

On the programme:
Saturday:
- 10.30 am to 12 noon: musical tour with Baptiste Genniaux, Toulouse les Orgues.
- 12 noon to 12.30 pm: musical interlude with Barbara Cornet, Toulouse les Orgues.
- At 2.00 pm, 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm: a quick tour of the church, organised by Monuments de Toulouse.
- At 2.00 pm and 2.30 pm: a presentation on the organ with Yves Rechsteiner, Toulouse les Orgues.
- At 3.00 pm: musical interlude with Barbara Cornet, Toulouse les Orgues.
- At 3.30 pm, 4.00 pm and 4.30 pm: presentation of the organ with Yves Rechsteiner, Toulouse les Orgues.
- At 5.00 pm: musical interlude with Barbara Cornet, Toulouse les Orgues.

Sunday:
- At 10.30 am, 11.30 am and 4.00 pm: quick tour of the church, organised by Monuments de Toulouse.
- At 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm: musical interlude with Barbara Cornet, Toulouse les Orgues.
