About

A circus in the library? Yes, it's possible! From January to March, libraries are celebrating the circus in all its forms: live performances, meetings, screenings, workshops and exhibitions...

The Histoire(s) de cirque programme is built around a number of highlights combining discovery, creation and transmission. The programme opens with the Maintenant le cirque exhibition at the Côte Pavée multimedia library, which takes a contemporary look at current forms of the circus. Meetings and screenings will enhance this exploration, including L'histoire du cirque racontée en images, as well as the films Les Ogres and Circo para todos - Cinelatino. There's a special focus on young audiences, with Hector, the Extraordinarily Strong Man, a theatre of paper and wool, and a special children's Rendez-vous de l'actualité: The magic of the circus. Workshops and creative activities round off the programme, including a digital stop motion workshop on contemporary circus and the Music'halte concert: Paul & Max. Finally, a meeting with specialist Anna Tauber looks at the history and roots of the circus in Toulouse, offering an artistic, cultural and heritage vision of the circus.
