About

Azusa Takeuchi’s artistry is fully expressed in the relationship that develops between her and the audience. Following *Kara-Da-Kara*, which premiered at the Théâtre Garonne in 2019, she returns with a new production that explores, beyond movement, the first of our five senses.

In Japanese, ‘fureru’ means ‘to touch’ or ‘to be touched’, in every sense of the word. It is a definition that the choreographer explores in all its depth, bringing her body into contact with a block of ice that becomes her performance partner. Drawing on this material, enriched by her collaborations with the puppeteer and director Élise Vigneron, she develops a form that is as much about physical resistance as it is about poetic choreography. Through ice, light and sound, an almost palpable energy connects the dancer with her audience, to the point where she shares with them the sensations and emotions coursing through her body.
