The Danses et Continents Noirs Festival is a cultural initiative that showcases aspects of African heritage and that of the African diaspora, enriching your understanding of the contemporary world. It celebrates dance and music through tributes, new works and encounters

This 2026 edition, themed ‘This is our history’, explores the place of African and Afro-descendant heritage in the history of dance. Through performances, talks, screenings and archival material, the festival shines a light on artists and forms of knowledge that have long been overlooked, whilst exploring their influence on contemporary choreographic practices. An invitation to bring different memories together, pass on cultural heritage and renew our perspectives on the history of dance.
