About

Every evening, a different actor takes on the role of Andrea Jiménez's father. He becomes King Lear while she is Cordelia. In this confrontation, an attempt is made to repair the balance between reality and fiction.

Andrea Jiménez, or rather the double she plays, has a score to settle with her father. And with good reason: he has never set foot in a theatre, even though his favourite daughter is a director. Be that as it may, the Spanish artist has not said her last word. Perhaps her Casting Lear will enable her to find the ideal father.

Borrowing the character of Cordelia from Shakespeare's play, Andrea Jiménez uses King Lear as a gateway to deeper reflection. Opposite her, each evening a new actor discovers the text and plays the role of the father. Behind the irony of the situation, she focuses on parental figures, whether they relate to the family or to our social and cultural references. Through them, we question our heritage and the way it shapes us in spite of ourselves. This is a play that plays with the fragility of the moment, giving the theatre full power in this quest.
