This programme, centred on the theme of fleeting love affairs, will open with a revival of the hit production from October 2024 at the Capitole in Toulouse: *Don Juan*, in Edward Clug’s choreographic version.
If anyone has had a plethora of fleeting and transient romantic adventures, it is surely Don Juan Tenorio, the Seducer of Seville… With C. W. Gluck’s flamboyant eponymous score as its central thread, this production of *Don Juan* succeeds in blending the old and the new, bringing out the universal elements of this drama from Spain’s Golden Age. Edward Clug brings the myth to life through a danced allegory that blends elements of tradition with neoclassical and contemporary aesthetics, thus treating the story symbolically, not without a touch of humour.
