Having both trained at the Bordeaux Conservatoire in Maryse Castets’ class before joining the Paris Opera Academy, the bass Adrien Mathonat and the mezzo-soprano Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur share far more than just a similar career path: they belong to the same generation and share the same hig...

Mathonat appeared in our production of *Don Giovanni* in 2025, playing the roles of Masetto and the Commendatore. Bouchard-Lesieur, who was named one of the ‘Revelations’ at the 2022 Victoires de la Musique Classique, has already made a name for herself at Europe’s leading opera houses. Accompanied by pianist Carlos Sanchis Aguirre, they come together here for a duet recital.
