1, 2, 3, POQUELIN

Following *Le Misanthrope* (1998), *Poquelin* (2003) and *Poquelin II* (2017), we will be staging *1, 2, 3 Poquelin* from June 2026. To this end, we have reworked *Poquelin I* and *II*. We will be performing revised versions of elements from both productions with a partly new cast, and, whilst we’re at it, we will also be adding new material.

In this ode to theatre – at once unrestrained and exuberant – you will see: *The Imaginary Invalid*, in which a hypochondriac with all the hallmarks of a Molière character makes life impossible for himself and those around him; *The Doctor in Spite of Himself*, a joyful chaos punctuated by jokes that are either politically correct or incorrect; *The Miser*, in which a greedy brute shows us the benefits of unbridled possessiveness; *The Forced Marriage*, another farce in which an old bachelor is torn to shreds; *The Egotists*, ‘published posthumously’, which undermines our own vanity; and a few other things besides… Paternalism, stupidity, infidelity, violence, suspicion and egocentrism are guaranteed. In short, very 2026, really…
