Immerse yourself in the Toulouse of the 1860s guided by Augustine Lavoisier, a descendant of the famous chemist.
Guided by this schoolteacher, discover how the Garonne became the scene of a veritable hygiene revolution: shower boats, morgues, abattoirs, hospitals,
morgue, abattoirs, hospitals...
With its mix of science, health scandals and everyday life, this walk along the river takes you back to a 19th century in search of cleanliness and progress.

The story "Le Toulouse frivole de Mme Rose" :
Explore 19th-century Toulouse with Madame Rose, a brothel owner who doesn't mince her words. At a time when modernity and the railway were developing, the city was booming, leisure activities were taking off and department stores were springing up.
Your tour guide will be dressed in period costume as Madame Rose, a "merchant of love" as she likes to call herself. She'll invite you to stroll with her through the streets of the Saint Georges district, where she'll tell you all about her pimping business and the bustling life of Toulouse in the 1880s: the opening of the Rue Alsace-Lorraine, the arrival of electricity, cafés and the more or less frivolous leisure activities of the city's inhabitants.

Good to know:
- The guided walking tours, led by a qualified tour guide, last around 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes and are perfect for anyone wishing to discover Toulouse's great eras as if they were there. You're welcome to come on your own, with your family or friends, or even if you're just passing through the Pink City. The tour is recommended for children aged 8 and over.
10 years for the tours "Toulouse during the Renaissance" and "Toulouse on the Garonne" and 12 years for "Toulouse frivole".
- Reservations are compulsory and cannot be changed or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.
- A minimum of 6 adults is required to start the tour, and places are limited to 25 people.
- This tour is accessible for the visually and hearing impaired, and for PRM for the "Toulouse frivole" and "Toulouse on the Garonne, hygiene fever" tours.
