About
The scene takes place on 22 March 1794. Danton and Robespierre, the two giants of the Revolution, meet for a final face-to-face encounter.
Their clash will determine not only the future of France but also their own personal futures. In the shadow of the guillotine, a fratricidal struggle unfolds over the values of liberty and equality, illuminated by a mad hope for fraternity.
Between Danton, an exuberant and spontaneous giant with a love of pleasure, and Robespierre, an elegant and unyielding ascetic, the philosopher of the Revolution, a duel to the death will unfold.
A play by Hugues Leforestier
Directed by Giselle Grange, starring Alain Courmont and Bernard Meyer
