About
Through these tales inspired by Pyrenean traditions, the audience will discover how these places have, for centuries, fuelled the fears, beliefs and dreams of the mountain dwellers.
In the heart of the Pyrenees, the caves of Gargas, Bédeilhac, Marsoulas and Mas-d’Azil open the doors to an underground world where prehistory, mystery and popular folklore intertwine.
An immersion in the legends that have sprung up around these fascinating caves: fairies guarding the depths, hidden beings living in the mountains, monsters lurking in the darkness and mythical bears symbolising wild forces.
Combining prehistoric traces with oral tradition, this evocative journey will foster a dialogue between heritage and the imagination. The stories told will allow visitors to explore the cave as a sacred space, a refuge for spirits and a gateway to the invisible, whilst highlighting the cultural and symbolic richness of the Pyrenean sites linked to the Toulouse Natural History Museum.
