Pastel dyers and senior magistrates of the Royal Parliament commissioned the construction of mansions in keeping with the humanist movement sweeping across Europe.

Georges Bemberg died in Paris in 2011 at the age of 96. Born into a family of German industrialists who settled in Argentina in the 19th century, Georges was an art lover. He built up a collection of artworks from the age of twenty until his death. G. Bemberg thus acquired hundreds of paintings, furniture and decorative objects, guided solely by the pure emotion he felt when viewing the works.
