HYPER DURAS
About
Summer, rain, the beach, summer camps, solitude, the telly on, and a writer’s vivid imagination.
It is 1980, and Marguerite Duras is approached by the newspaper *Libération* to write a column to be published weekly that summer. Never mind – she’ll write whatever she likes. Somewhere between realism and fantasy, we find ourselves immersed in a haunting diary.
Hyper Duras is an offbeat journey into the world of a writer who is as much hated as she is adored. It touches on the strike in Poland, an eccentric shark, an Italian interviewer, and the price of ham. On the passing of time. On what slips through our fingers. A journey through Duras’s waters, where despair, megalomania, humour and poetry coexist.
