One hundred and fifty feature films, three Oscars, a host of collaborations with Sarah Vaughan, Ray Charles, Claude Nougaro and Natalie Dessay: seven years after his death, Michel Legrand remains one of the world’s most famous French composers.
His films are filled with unforgettable images: Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac as twin sisters, Steve McQueen as a gentleman thief in *The Thomas Crown Affair*, Romy Schneider and Alain Delon by the pool in *La Piscine*… Above all, composing for the screen enabled Michel Legrand to synthesise his various cultural influences, from Bach to Miles Davis. Featuring a mix of classical scores and lesser-known pieces, this concert will be an invitation to journey into the world of a man who broke down barriers, with a passion for music in all its forms.
