The Resource Centre dedicated to Occitan oral tradition and traditional music and dance presents the full range of its activities: the preservation and promotion of oral heritage, the transmission and creation of traditions, and cultural dialogue.

This weekend, it’s opening its doors to you!
On the programme for this day dedicated to Occitan musical heritage:

- You’re invited to the forecourt for the students’ ball organised by the Department of Traditional Music from 4 pm to 8 pm on Sunday 20 September.

- In the Middle Ages, Toulouse was a major centre for the dissemination of troubadour music. This residency at the COMDT offers the Tolosa Trobadors duo the opportunity to delve into the essence of medieval sounds, exploring the so-called ‘unequal’ melodic intervals that are characteristic of this music and have gradually faded over time.
This second programme presents a new selection of medieval and traditional songs, as well as instrumental pieces. The arrangements have been created entirely by the two musicians.

You’ll be able to explore the exhibition of traditional Occitan instruments, comprising original antique pieces and replicas, which bear witness to a living heritage rooted in oral tradition. Finally, musical performances and a dance will bring this festive and warm-hearted tribute to a close.
