About
Violeta Jarero and Maxime Juniet weave a musical dialogue between Veracruz and Occitania.
Their duo, La Tarasca, evokes both a mythical Provençal figure and a traditional jarocho sound, symbolising this meeting of two worlds of the imagination.
On stage, La Tarasca blends vocals, strings and percussion to create a dialogue between Mexican sones and verses in Occitan, written and adapted to fit the oral and improvised aesthetic of son jarocho, the traditional music of the Gulf of Mexico.
A collective and poetic celebration, each La Tarasca concert offers a musical journey where languages and traditions interact freely and without boundaries.
For this evening at La Cave Po’, the duo welcomes Henri Lassémillante from Réunion, who will perform on double bass and the ‘roulèr’, a traditional percussion instrument from the island of Réunion.
