Immerse yourself in the world of German Romanticism, with literary works and legends that inspired the imagination of the 19th century, including Goethe's Faust.
Liszt is the central figure in this concert, with his sonata, the Hungarian composer's masterpiece, which left its mark on all piano literature.
You will also hear various transcriptions he made of personalities he loved (his friend Saint-Saëns, his son-in-law Richard Wagner, and Schubert, whose Wanderer Fantasie he also orchestrated).
Fanny Mendelssohn, a highly talented composer relegated to the shadow of her brother Felix, will also be highlighted through her Romances sans paroles.
