About

Part show, part film, part lecture, Suzanne: A History of the Circus retraces the life of Suzanne, a circus acrobat in the 1950s, and the investigation she undertook to reconstruct her act.

By a happy coincidence of her grandmother's neighbourhood, Anna Tauber met Suzanne in Toulouse in 2017. Now aged over 90, Suzanne and her husband Roger had an aerial frame duet, performed at heights of 10 metres and without a net all over the world in the 1950s. Anna Tauber saw in this encounter the urgent need to keep a living, accessible trace of this precious memory and set about collecting photos, testimonials and other material.

From this circus of yesteryear comes an intimate performance that brings together their destinies: that of an acrobat of yesteryear and that of a young artist of today, passionate and driven by the desire to revive a forgotten circus act. A solo, but with lots of people around and a film that becomes the site of a circus rediscovered.
