"La Ville Rose" has reached for the skies and space with great economic success. It all started with the age of the "Aéropostale" airmail service...
At the end of the First World War, in 1918, Pierre-Georges Latécoère set up the Montaudran works. This was the beginning of a long story: that of the "Aéropostale" service. Latécoère then made it possible to set up the first regular service linking Toulouse to Morocco, then Toulouse to South America. He founded the company Aéropostale, responsible for delivering mail to the other side of the world. Some great names in aviation contributed to the company's development, such as Mermoz, Daurat and Saint-Exupéry.
In 1969, the famous Concorde took off from the runways of Toulouse Blagnac airport, then in 1972, the first Airbus took off from Toulouse. The story continues today with the giant of the skies, the A380 … and will continue in the future with the A350.
